Sinopsis

Durante el primer curso en el instituto, unos chicos deciden contratar a un guardaespaldas de poca monta (Owen Wilson) para que los proteja de unos matones que les están haciendo la vida imposible. Desde el primer día de clase, Ryan, Wade y Emmit se convierten en el blanco de las burlas de Filkins, el «matón» del instituto y un torturador nato. De pronto, lo que habían imaginado que podían ser los mejores años de su vida se convierten en un infierno. Es entonces cuando contratan a Drillbit Taylor (Wilson) como guardaespaldas.
